Orchid Tree Psychology was founded in 2024 by Jonny Ka Chun Chan (he/him) to provide a new standard of psychological support in Sydney. An experienced Clinical Psychologist, Jonny grew up in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom where he completed his undergraduate training in psychology at the University of Bristol. He later completed postgraduate study at the University of St Andrews and the Max Planck Institute in Leipzig and worked in education psychology research at the University of Hong Kong before commencing clinical training at the University of Sydney.
Jonny has provided psychological services at the University of Sydney, for NSW Health, local Sydney PHNs, headspace and in a number of Sydney private practices. Alongside his busy private psychological practice, he is a Board-approved supervisor for provisional psychologists.
Having worked as a psychologist both in Asia and Australia, Jonny understands the impact cultural barriers can have on those seeking psychological support in Sydney. He supports Orchid Tree’s Psychologists in creating a safe and inclusive, open space where clients can voice their thoughts and concerns without fear of judgement.
